we came across this unusual and beautiful snowdrop variant this morning. It appears to have a petal growing through the main axis of the flower. Does it have a name?
And thanks to Derrick for this link , for snowdrop fanatics.
I could be wrong but I think they are called tepals or nectar guides. This link gives some time lapse photography of snowdrops opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3P5ooOFMMUo&eurl=http://completegarden.wordpress.com/2009/02/23/snowdrop-flower-opening-time-lapse/&feature=player_embedded Derrick

Sorry - misread your post. Don't know the name of the variant but I know a man who might! I'll ask him.
